rocky was born of love, or so his parents say. the oldest of six children, rocky has two younger brothers and three younger sisters who are all adopted. one year into their marriage, carmen and nolan landon found that it was impossible for them to conceive a child. this devastated the couple as they had always dreamed of a big family ever since they got serious their senior year of high school. the process for adoption was hard but nearly a year after their application they were given the gift of a bouncing baby boy. they named him rocky after carmen's father. two years later they adopted another child, this time a girl. the process continued until after four more children as well as foster children going in and out of the house rocky would say he had his fill of siblings, temporary or not. don't get him wrong, the guy loves his family more than anything in the world. if his parents had taught him one thing it was family values and how important they are. blood is thicker than water; family first, friends second.

rocky is the type of guy who is defined by his family. he took every lesson of his father's to heart and when he asked his mom or sisters about how women worked, he listened. they turned him into what he is now: an incredibly sarcastic, intellectual, snarky young gentleman. his father had always kept books around the house and when rocky was young he was always reading. his brothers were obsessed with legos, his sisters loved barbies and polly pockets, and while they all shared a common love for family story time it was rocky that had the obsession with books. rocky loves all kinds of literature and considers himself a connoisseur of the written word. when he was 23 years old he opened up his own used book shop where he spends the majority of his time, even after hours where he sits at his desk (also the cashier's counter) with his feet on the desktop and his nose in a book, ignoring customers until they practically yell at him to gain his attention. rocky loves books; his favorite book is catch-22, though he loves all the works of joseph heller, and will delve into any genre that exists. he hates the fact that he's addicted to the twilight books (honestly, he'll be the first person to make fun of them but then turn around and say how much he wants a girl like bella). rocky is obsessed with literature of all kinds and it really disrupts his social life, which doesn't really exist.

everything before the book store isn't of too much importance. rocky lived a normal life with a whole lot of siblings and a whole lot of chaos under one roof. his entire family lived in a one story house, albeit it had four bedrooms and three bathrooms, but with eight people living in the house (and that was when there were no foster children running around) things can get sort of hectic. that could be why he enjoys quiet now, because he was exposed to eighteen years of screaming and throwing. rocky could start counting with his toes and he still wouldn't have enough digits to count all of the food fights that broke out in the landon home.

college was a brief experience. a month at nyu well wasted, rocky wasn't interested in a higher education. in all honesty rocky would have rather spent all that tuition money he was saving up on a higher calling of his, like buying a ton of books or, better yet, opening up his own shop. he was 18 when he started collecting books. tens became hundreds, hundreds became thousands. copies upon copies of books, of every author imaginable, every title imaginable, every genre imaginable. if rocky was going to start somewhere he wasn't going to rely simply on donations. five years later, his apartment completely filled with books, rocky had saved up enough to rent his own space and open up a small used book shop. his passion wasn't owning his own business, no, all that rocky wanted to do was read his books and get paid for it. therefore he opened infinite frontiers which would develop as a used book shop into an all-around nerd store, complete with a massive collection of vinyl that was either found in attics of friends and family or donated by frequent customers. at this point rocky can afford to be picky and not just let any crap in his store. what once was a store with 4 walls, stacked to the ceiling with books, was now still a 4-walled space but with the help of his sisters' decorating intuition he was able to fill up the space in an aesthetically pleasing way.

as for rocky's personality he's a pretty chill guy. as stated earlier, he likes to spend his time with at his book store reading, feet on the desk, tipping back as far as possible in his chair, and ignoring every customer that comes in. he always has a playlist going which consists mostly of rap: ti, jay-z, lil wayne, the usual hip hop suspects. because of this some people tend to not take him or his book store seriously when they first walk in. especially because when they try to get his attention and he holds up his pointer finger, finishing the page of whatever he's reading before he gives the customer his attention. his apparel reflects his personality: he's too lazy for contacts so he wears huge nerd glasses that he hasn't replaced since high school, usually there's some time of hat on his head to hide the fact that he forgets to comb his hair until he's nearly out the door in the morning, and in the summer he's all about jeans and a t-shirt. in the autumn and winter he gets a little fashionable and will throw on a cardigan or peacoat but nothing more elaborate than that.

rocky currently lives by himself. he likes his apartment, it's absolutely cluttered. there are books everywhere along with all sorts of random crap that he finds. rocky is one for flea markets, despite the fact that he hates everything the indie kids like. he always had a penchant for knick knacks and shiny things. if he could, rocky would spend all of his time in his apartment, just reading and listening to his tunes, occasionally having a friend or family member over. as much as he thought he hated the loudness that he lived in for all his years until adulthood the deafening quiet that he's been living in for the past few years is making him miss the food fights and screaming matches.

• he's more of a nerd than a geek. rocky likes reading and while he does dabble in the occasional d&d campaign, rocky doesn't play many video games or watch many movies.
• he doesn't watch many movies but what he does watch are nerdfests. indiana jones, star wars, star trek, stargate, and any sci-fi original channel movies.
• he loves hip hop. don't try and fool him with all this acoustic indie crap influenced by bukowski. rocky digs the rap.
• he's adopted and has five other siblings who are also adopted. two boys, three girls.
• currently living in manhattan by himself.
• visits longport, his hometown, every now and then for his family. it used to be that he didn't visit a lot but his trips to longport are becoming more and more frequent.
